Climate Justice Fast!

9am-5pm, 6th November – 18th December Front lawn, (new) Parliament House

Climate Justice Fast! supporters began a global hunger strike on 6 December, aimed at provoking world leaders into achieving results at the Copenhagen climate summit this December.  Australians Paul Connor, Michael Morphett, Marcella Brasset, Neel Bannerjee and Kamrul Khan have been fasting in Canberra in front of Parliament House.

“Climate change is a global emergency, bringing us slowly but surely towards catastrophe, and our governments’ inaction is set to make us complicit in the greatest crime against humanity in history. We’re already seeing the world’s most vulnerable people suffering the consequences of a problem they did not cause,” Mr Connor said as he prepared for an indefinite abstinence from food of any sort.

Come along and show your support to the fasters, and have a look at the blog they are updating daily at www.climatejusticefast.org
